"ratio of light reflected from a surface," 1859, from Latin albedo, literally "whiteness," from albus "white" (see alb).
1. These bands must introduce longitudinal asymmetry in the planetary albedo.

2. If the stellar spectrum is known, the albedo of the dust can be obtained.

3. Cloudy areas can also be areas of radiation deficit because of their higher albedo.

4. Not affected by colors or albedo. Any objects can be detected.
